Ms Marjan Mazaheri

Registered Psychologist

Ms Marjan Mazaheri is a compassionate, evidence-based psychologist at MedSurg Weight Loss, specialising in supporting individuals with psychological challenges related to weight management and achieving a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. She focuses on building motivation, fostering self-confidence, and addressing emotional and behavioural barriers to success, including emotional and disordered eating.

Marjan provides tailored psychological support to medical weight loss and bariatric surgery patients, both pre- and post-procedure, helping to ensure positive, sustainable outcomes. She holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours), a Graduate Diploma in Behaviour Analysis, and has completed postgraduate training in Clinical Hypnosis and EMDR.

Using a person-centred approach, Marjan draws on individuals’ strengths, including personal resilience and social support networks, to promote wellbeing. She adapts therapeutic techniques, such as CBT and ACT, to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. Marjan is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised care, creating a safe and collaborative environment where clients can work towards their goals and achieve meaningful progress.

Extended Psychological Supports

With a special interest in ADHD assessments for both adults and children, Marjan also offers a range of psychological evaluations, including cognitive, functional, and personality assessments. She provides therapy for various mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, and personality disorders, and is a trained EMDR therapist, helping clients overcome trauma and emotional distress.

Marjan has extensive experience working with children and adults with disabilities, developing positive behaviour support plans and offering comprehensive consultation services. She is also skilled in helping couples address relational issues, improve communication, and resolve conflicts. 

Marjan is a private billing practitioner, however, Medicare rebates are available for patients under a Better Access to Mental Health Care Plan or an Eating Disorder Management Plan.
