World Obesity Day 2024 – Empowering Lives, Ending Stigma!

This public event is FREE for anyone wishing to learn more about the management of overweight and obesity. Come along and meet with Bariatric Surgeons, a Specialised General Practitioner, Bariatric Dietitians, Weight Management Psychologists, Multivitamin Experts and ask them your questions! Explore the different devices used in weight loss, such as the Allurion Balloon and the Lexington Medical Staple device. Have a turn of the demonstration medical weight loss injection pens and discuss with specialised nurses about the ins and outs of using these medications. Taste an array of healthy food options and explore the different flavours of protein drinks and meal replacements. Collect your free samples of Multivitamin products and grab your free coffee on the way in!

A Comprehensive Overview – Obesity and Systemic Diseases

We invite Specialist General Practitioners to join us for a comprehensive review of the chronic disease that is obesity and it’s related systemic complications. Here we will review current disease related concerns and explore up to date medical, surgical and lifestyle interventions to manage obesity and it’s complications. 

This collaborative workshop series will involve monthly industry sponsored dinners and is RACGP Endorsed for CPD hours and Reviewing Performance points.

A Free Breakfast Event – The Role Medications Are Playing in Treatment and Prevention of Obesity and Unhealthy Weight 

Medication use in weight management has hit the market with impact. Due to the enormous uptake of new pharmaceutical drugs in Australia, it is imperative that healthcare professionals, public health professionals and individuals managing weight-related issues understand the interventions available. Join Health and Wellbeing Queensland for a FREE breakfast event on Wednesday 4 September to discuss the role medications are playing in treatment and prevention of obesity and unhealthy weight. This session will include perspectives and insights from a consumer, ensuring a holistic understanding of the topic.
