Her expertise encompasses a range of autoimmune disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, thyroid diseases, and rheumatoid arthritis. Jo-anne’s personal journey with inflammatory arthritis, diagnosed after the birth of her first son, has deepened her understanding of the significant role nutrition plays in managing health conditions.
Jo-anne earned her Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from Griffith University in 2009. Her professional background includes more than 12 years in hospital settings, where she addressed various health conditions such as diabetes (type 1 and type 2), inflammatory bowel disease, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), malnutrition, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other neurodegenerative diseases.
Jo-anne is committed to empowering patients with the nutritional knowledge and tools necessary for improved, sustainable well-being. She adopts a compassionate, holistic approach, tailoring her guidance to each individual’s unique health journey.
Internationally, Jo-anne collaborated with the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver, focusing extensively on head and neck cancers. She also has experience in community health, working on childhood obesity prevention and management, geriatric nutrition, and mental health.
